You're right in the heart of vampire territory now. If you're playing for the first time, you'll have the Holy Water, but can only use it twice before you run out. It's really great against the vampire menace.
Stage 1 0:20
Stage 2 10:34
Stage 3 18:04
Stage 4 34:45
Thoughts and tips
- when fighting the Animated Armors, if you whip their shields enough, they'll start to glow, signaling that you can grab them and pull them away. Just be careful when attacking while they're blocking, as this always leads to an unblockable counterattack.
- Skeletons will reform if you leave them alone after they fall apart. Using the heavy whip combo or the final strike of the normal direct combo will scatter the bones on the ground.
- the maze garden is super confusing - a good way to get the trial completed is to wait until enough mandragora enemies spawn and throw a Holy Water, killing them instantly. When another group spawns, quickly throw another and finish them off. It helps if you have some of the Holy Water stock upgrades.
- The simple answer to the puzzle in the maze garden is to turn the middle statue counterclockwise twice.
- I always walk past the hallway out of the maze garden like a million times when I'm looking for the way out - while you're on the spider, keep trying to go right from the edge of the maze and you'll eventually stumble onto the hallway out - use the spider's web to pull the door open.
- In the third stage, if you kill all the waves of vampires when it goes full dark, they'll drop a HUGE pile of subweapons to restock you. More trouble than it's worth on higher difficulties though.
- The Vampire Wargame is random. The trial says win without losing more than three pieces - you can keep restarting from checkpoint to start the game over while you're playing. That's how I got the trial achievement for this chapter off camera. I don't like random achievements, but I'm happy I got it.
- Look at the atmosphere in stage 6-4 - the dining room especially. It's absolutely stunning for a horror game.
- The Evil Butcher (lol) in the fourth stage killed me because he hits so hard, but I got him on my second try. When he puts the cooking pot on his head like a helmet, jump up, strike his head with your whip, and the ending cutscene for the fight will start.
