This video is part of a much larger set that encompasses the Ship Showcase playlist. This is the fifty third video that I recorded.
Ships in this series: Echidna, Cerberus, Hades, Charon
This ship is the first in the series of lightning Wave Cannon ships and is defined as a prototype. The red weapon fires a continuous laser straight ahead. The blue weapon fires a single blue semi homing beam. The yellow weapon is a vertical wiper style weapon and is very powerful despite not covering the whole screen like its successors. The missile is the Photon Missile, which is semi homing and causes a small AoE blast when it hits something. The Bits are Round Bits and will fire with the red weapon equipped. The Chain Force is just what it says - it has a chain attached to the Force, but won't fire while detached. The chain can deal damage to the enemies, which, in general, is hardly worth attempting. Since it's a prototype to the Claw Force, it does not latch onto enemies, making it nearly useless when detached. The Wave Cannon is a non homing lightning blast that does arc near enemies, but won't zero in on their position. Fully charged, it shoots out three lightning blasts.
Again, this is the first stage in R-Type Delta. I like this stage because I can use all of the ship's weapons if I choose to. The Echidna is a seriously underpowered ship, but I killed that mechanical Outslay with its yellow weapon, so there's that. You can see that when I was fighting Moritz-G, the lightning kept arcing into the ground, so I had to rely on the red weapon to kill it.
In stage Z7.1, the R99 uses this version of the Force when it switches up, and this version of the Wave Cannon. God help us if it could use the Cerberus, Hades, or Charon's versions of those weapons.
