Konami released the Castlevania Dominus Collection last month, which includes Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, Order of Ecclesia, Haunted Castle, and this game - a brand new remake of Haunted Castle, done by M2. The original Haunted Castle is not a very good game, and thankfully this remake doesn't follow it too closely - pretty much every aspect of it has been completely reimagined. It even has two distinct difficulty modes, Normal and Hard. I'm playing on Hard here, which has additional enemy spawns all over the place. It's still not a difficult game, but it gives you a fairly satisfying level of challenge, you just won't need to spend a ton of time learning to overcome it. Other than that, there's not too much to say about this game. It's a well made Castlevania, that doesn't do much (or anything) to deviate from what you'd expect out of a classic Castlevania game. Fans of the series will definitely enjoy it.
The Dominus Collection includes at least one other excellent game in Order of Ecclesia (by far my favorite 'metroidvania'), so I think these two games alone make it worth picking up, especially for the $18~ or so that it's already going for online. Check it out! (Dawn of Sorrow is pretty cool too)
