I've been playing Street Fighter 6 a lot since it came out. Once I realized I'd be able to get to Master rank, I thought I'd record some footage and make a video out of it. I'm not particularly good though; a lot of my gameplay is suboptimal and I certainly don't instinctively know the best punishes and setups for every situation. I'm not sure there's a lot to learn here, but hopefully people will find it helpful or entertaining. Street Fighter is one of my favorite series, so it'll be nice to have some videos of it on my channel at least.
But anyway! I love the game, and Marisa's playstyle suits me really well. I feel like she struggles against the strongest characters, but if she can get in and get her gameplan started, she can steamroll anyone. You just need to establish the command grab early (which I usually fail to do when I'm tilted) to make people want to jump/backdash when they're on defense, which opens them up for big combos.
I don't think I'd say this is my favorite Street Fighter just yet, but it certainly will be in a couple years after they've beefed up the roster. That's all it really needs now, since the game systems are pretty robust and smartly designed. It'll be hard to top this as the best game of 2023.
I recorded all of this as I was playing, and honestly, I didn't rewatch most of these matches. I have like 15 hours of footage and just wanted to put in as many different characters as I could, whether I won or lost. I figured this video would be way shorter though... maybe I shouldn't have included full sets?
