The entrance is towards the town and is located next to the defense tower, which in ancient times was equipped with a drawbridge of which visible traces can still be seen today in that same tower. Another round watchtower rose on the northern corner of the castle and was located almost opposite the current Canonica, which was demolished at the beginning of this century. Another watchtower served the current Bell Tower on which the feudal Bell was placed. This tower was then sold or donated by the feudal lord at the end of 1500 for use as the Bell Tower of the parish. The Castle stands in a strategic position, and is the oldest monument in Basaluzzo.
