This is the Castle Hot Springs Road dirt road route in its entirety. Watch the entire drive from end to end from the perspective of our camera mounted to the roof of our truck. No talking. Just driving, the sound of the road, good scenery, and occasional ambient music.
This is a great video to watch if you are planning on driving the route to study it and build confidence that your vehicle is suitable. It's also a great video to put on the background to help you relax.
Overall, we think this route is as easy as dirt road drives get. Castle Hot Springs road is well maintained from beginning to end, wide enough for traffic going both ways most of the time, and there are no obstacles. In good weather, even passenger cars might consider it if you can deal with a few washboards.
The views of the desert back there are second to none too. There are many places to pull off and see endless views and mountains for miles.
The route passes by the historic Castle Hot Springs Resort and is about 31 miles in total length from start to finish. It'll take you anywhere from a couple hours to several hours to complete if you stop to take in the views alot.
