On May 9, 2026, the Cass Scenic Railroad opened their operating season with the Geared Titans Special along the Greenbrier Express route from Cass to Durbin. Originally meant to be the first tripleheader excursion with a Shay, Heisler, and Climax, it instead operated as a doubleheader due to stability issues with the Climax's front truck. Luckily the Climax was still able to make an appearance for some photo runbys, allowing a rare opportunity to see all three major types of geared steam locomotive in action among the budding forests of West Virginia.
