On a blisteringly hot June day, with temps nearing 100F, I took a ride on the Road to Paradise behind ex-Canadian National 2-6-0 no. 89. Also running trips this day was Northwestern Railway 0-6-0T no. 1 "Thomas," which was visiting from the Island of Sodor.
