Carlsbad Caverns are an impressive and awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage site. Located in the south-east of New Mexico, the enormous cave system was brought to the attention of the world in 1898 by a local man named Jim White. Covering thousands of acres underground, the sprawling caverns have hundreds of different rooms and chambers. Those open to the public are very impressive, covered with stalactites, stalagmites, and many other formations. Let's have a closer look!
