On Sunday, March 8, 2026, at around 8:30 p.m., Deputies LaFountain and Kearns responded to Tidal Wave Auto Spa on SW 95th Street Road in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies located 36-year-old Bryce Thayer (W/M, DOB: 02/12/1990) being restrained by the 18-year-old victim.

Thayer was taken into custody, and the investigation revealed that he had approached two employees at the car wash as they were closing. He was told to leave the property, at which time Thayer became irate and approached the two victims in a threatening manner while wielding an axe.

The 18-year-old victim lunged at Thayer in an attempt to disarm him and was able to get him on the ground. The second victim was then able to remove the axe from his grip. The victim restrained Thayer until deputies arrived. He was placed under arrest, and a search revealed he was in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thayer was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he remains with an $11,000 bond.
