Can a modern high-end gaming PC handle a massive Sea Power naval warfare simulation better than a previous-generation system, and how much by? In this video, we directly compare my old PC (AMD Ryzen 9 5900X + NVIDIA RTX 3080) against my new PC (AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D + NVIDIA RTX 5080) by running the exact same large-scale Sea Power scenario and analyzing the performance results.
The test scenario pits 100 Shahed-136 one-way attack drones against the historic US Navy Task Force 38.1 from 1944. The task force includes 25 warships, featuring Essex-class aircraft carriers, South Dakota-class battleships, heavy cruisers, light cruisers, and destroyers. Can a World War II carrier battle group survive a modern drone swarm attack? And which PC delivers the best performance when simulating the battle?
