Fear is a funny thing. Since the dawn of time, men women and children have been afraid of clowns. But ask any parent what the scariest thing in the world is and they’ll all tell you the same thing: an angry toddler with a knife. But what would happen if you combined the power of a clown with the lunacy of an enraged weapon-wielding toddler? Can You Beat Fallout 3 As The Pint Sized Slasher?

Can You Beat Fallout 3 As The Pint Sized Slasher? (in text form)
Back in April, Mitten Squad turned 9 years old, but here’s the thing: I made Mitten Squad when I was 16 and on May 15th I turned 26 and you know what that means. We can officially celebrate 10 years of Mitten Squad on a technicality and what better way to do that than with the release of the Fork Barbarian’s cooler older brother, the Nuclear Fork Barbarian made by Makeship. The Plush is on sale now for $27.99. This is a limited run product that will only be on sale until July 1st. If you don’t buy one by then, it’s gone forever.
For starters, the Pint Sized Slasher is a character that exists within Fallout 3 within the Tranquility Lane quest line. You become him to complete the quest line for Betty White to escape the simulation without taking any pills. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen before, it is simply impossible to beat Fallout 3 as an actual child. Assuming you somehow manage to make that this far, when you reach President Eden to take the vial you’re told that you cannot use that, children cannot carry viruses, we know this. And of course, escaping the vault as a 16 year old would result in the so-called “pint sized slasher” going to a pint sized prison cell for the rest of his natural life. So where does that leave us? You guessed it: it’s b*by time. First things first: the Pint Sized Slasher’s blade is only available in Tranquility Lane and because I don’t feel like giving a toddler the tool of a metaphorical god, we’re gonna be going the safety scissors route.
That tool, despite its name, is still a melee weapon, so SPECIAL stats are all based around the melee weapons skill. Strength for the melee weapons skill itself, Intelligence for some skill points when leveling up, and Luck as a boost to all skills. Now: it’s time to leave daddy encased in dust just like the 80 year old woman superhero The Octopus who, like when an octopus is frightened, spits dust out of her… you know. Walk into a wall, quick save quick load in rapid succession and with enough gusto in your hear you can clip through the wall and fall into a part of the vault you shouldn’t be able to reach. From there, as we’ve done so many times before, it’s as simple as escaping the vault as a b*by while dealing with a few roaches looking for an easy meal. Make sure to grab supplies like Stimpacks and… I guess that’s it. We can’t use the nerf bat and babies can’t have guns. Overseer isn’t around, so you snag his key from his locker, enter the escape tunnel, and seeing as we never took a ride on the GOAT, it’s here, at the beginning of the end of the line we pick tag skills. I went with Melee Weapons, Medicine, and Lockpick.

It’s an objective fact that Fallout: New Vegas is the best Fallout game to be released in 2010. While the story is thought by some to be better than Fallout 3 or 4’s, there’s more to the story of the Courier than what’s in the vanilla game. Can You Beat Fallout New Vegas’s Dead Money DLC Without Taking Any Damage? (in text form)
This run is different than any challenge I’ve done so far for a very simple reason that you probably already knew: it’s downloadable content. It’s meant to be played during or after you beat the main story, which means you’re not expected to do it as soon as you leave Doc Mitchell’s house. Because the challenge isn’t to beat the DLC at Level 1, I did something that may be controversial. I used console commands to level me up to 20, which is the minimum level suggested for starting Dead Money. In an effort to keep things somewhat fair, rather than dumping all my points into Skills that I’d rely on like Speech, Sneak, or Guns, I decided to get every skill up to 40, then I put the 9 leftover points into my tag skills: the skills I just said I’d normally rely on. You’re probably wondering about Perks. Well, I chose Confirmed Bachelor, Fortune Finder, Lady Killer, and Intense Training, with Educated being the last perk I chose so that I’d get its effects going forwards. Then, to try to balance things out again, which in retrospect didn’t matter, like, at all, I removed Confirmed Bachelor and Lady Killer via console commands. The entire point of this was to go into Dead Money with an as average character as possible.
Alright, into the game. I started out by making my way to the Abandoned Brotherhood of Steel bunker to begin the DLC. I did get sexually assaulted by a group of Cazadors on the way there, but the DLC hadn’t started yet so it doesn’t matter. I went down a ladder, got attacked with gas, and woke up in front of a fountain with a collar around my neck and an old man giving me orders. Pudding, uh, Bill Cosby joke. Yeah, I got nothing.
My mission was simple: find and recruit three others to help Daddy Elijah get into the Sierra Madre Casino. There are only a few problems: 1) the thick cloud of poisonous gas 2) the collar around my neck that will explode if I take a step in the wrong direction and 3) the Ghost People who, just like almost every other monstrosity to grace the Mojave Wasteland and its nearby areas, are a result of experiments done by brains in jars in a giant crater. I also have almost no armor, a laughably small amount of weapons to work with, and no healing items. Oh, and there’s the whole “any damage of any kind kills me because I set my max health to 1” thing. So, not the worst situation I’ve found myself in.
With the extra damage inflicted from stealth attacks, the Holorifle is taking out a Ghost Person with a single shot. After I found out I wasn’t completely out of hope, I picked up some Chuck E Cheese tokens from a fountain, entered the Villa Police Station, and exploded for the first time. The beeping collar is significantly more annoying than the red cloud, but it’s present throughout the entire run so I’m not gonna be a little whiner and complain about it anymore.
I continued searching the Police Station for a way to free the God Dog, found a helmet which was irrelephant [faint elephant sound] since I couldn’t take any damage in the first place, picked up a Police Pistol that would allow me to save my Holorifle for tougher foes, went down to the basement, looted more stuff, got the Dog Command Tape, cautiously approached the holding cell, played the tape, and initiated dialog with the beast.
