Developed to be incorporated into the upcoming school year, Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai’i (JCCH) and Go For Broke National Education Center (GFBNEC), along with Nisei Veterans Legacy (NVL) and Nisei Veterans Memorial Center (NVMC), announce the formal launch of a new expanded high school curriculum, "Can Hawai’i’s Aloha Spirit Survive a War?" which was developed in collaboration with the Hawai’i Department of Education (HDOE). Specifically, the unit addresses the sociopolitical effects of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the community values of “aloha spirit” and its deep roots in Hawai’i and the history of Japanese American soldiers in WWII.
