Cadet Nurse Corps veteran Kiyo Sato on being the only non-white student in her class at Case Western Reserve and the moment she decided to speak up against segregation. Before her acceptance at Case Western, Kiyo received several rejection letters from other colleges based on her ethnicity, or as one college noted, because the school did not want anyone of her ancestry around patients.
