Koh Ker is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia. Koh Ker was an important city of the Khmer empire. It is a jungle filled region that is sparsely populated. Between 928 and 944 Koh Ker was the capital of the entire empire. The remoteness of the place and the overgrown ruines create a mystical atmosphere.
