BYD Denza Z9 GT Walkaround Experience
The 2025 Denza Z9 GT from BYD is a high-performance luxury shooting brake offered in both Plug-in Hybrid and full Battery Electric configurations, blending grand touring comfort with supercar-level output. Developed under the premium Denza marque, the Z9 GT features a triple-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering well over 900 horsepower in its most powerful form. The PHEV variant pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with three electric motors for a combined 640 kW (858 hp), while the BEV model pushes output to 710 kW (952 hp). Acceleration is brutally quick, reaching 0–100 km/h in as little as 3.4 seconds for the electric version and 3.6 seconds for the hybrid, with a top speed of up to 240 km/h. The PHEV uses a 38.5 kWh LFP battery, enabling a combined driving range of around 1,100 km, while the BEV carries a 100.1 kWh LFP pack delivering approximately 630 km under CLTC testing.
Built on the advanced e3 platform for the hybrid and the e-Platform 3.0 Evo for the EV, the Z9 GT integrates CTB (Cell-to-Body) battery technology to enhance rigidity and lower the center of gravity. The large shooting brake measures between 5,180 and 5,195 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and up to 1,500 mm in height, giving it a commanding road presence. High-end chassis technology includes rear-wheel steering with a “crab walk” function for improved maneuverability and DiSus-A intelligent air suspension for adaptive ride control. The vehicle is packed with advanced driver assistance hardware, including up to 16 cameras, and features a rotating central infotainment display along with multiple digital interfaces.
Inside, the cabin focuses heavily on premium comfort and executive-level amenities. Nappa leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and a head-up display create a refined environment, while both front and rear occupants benefit from massaging seats. Technology extends to convenience features such as voice-activated automatic door closing and dual built-in refrigerators for added luxury. Practicality remains strong despite the sporty profile, offering approximately 21 cubic feet of rear cargo capacity plus an additional 7 cubic feet in the front trunk, making the Z9 GT a true high-performance grand tourer with everyday usability.
