We will see how it plays out but having two modes be timed exclusive might not feel great.
Big WE WILL SEE moment Bungie just announced that Marathon’s Cryo Archive raid will be playable starting tomorrow for players who meet the requirements! Here are new images and information:
•Cryo Archive takes you through six interconnected wings with a central hub. Traverse from wing-to-hub and back again in search of frozen Vaults containing powerful loot and dark secrets. Battle your way through intense UESC security, decked out Runner crews, and a ship that seems hellbent on keeping you out.
•Exfils on Cryo Archive are less reliable and follow different rules than the planet-side zones. You'll need to learn how exfils work to secure your way off the ship.
•Intensity: Cranked to the top. Cryo Archive is a pinnacle challenge and will take many runs to learn and master.
•Playstyle: Think raid-style puzzle solving and layered mechanics wrapped around brutal extraction stakes.
•Design: A labyrinthian layout where tight corridors give way to massive open spaces, pitting enemy crews against each other to unseal frozen Vaults.
•Full of secrets! #Marathon I haven't really been worried about Marathon's population.
But if Bungie is going to lock their very cool sounding pinnacle activity that is the NAMESAKE OF THE GAME behind weekends?
That's a barrier to entry that is going to take people from "I'll check it out" to "no thanks" It was almost impossible for Cryo Chamber to spike the playercount meaningfully. If you have played enough to meet the requirements, especially 5K loadout a run, chances are you have already been playing a lot to this point. It's not like new people can show up to play
