Bull Armory may have lost their mind in the best way possible.
The Tac Comp takes a gun that was already ridiculously flat — the Tac Pro — and adds even more recoil control with V6 porting and a compensator machined directly into the barrel.
That means the gas gets hit twice.
First by the ports.
Then by the comp.
And the result is one of the flattest shooting double-stack 1911s I’ve ever put my hands on.
This thing barely moves.
It feels like recoil mitigation taken past the point of logic and into art form.
But there is one weird problem with it:
The concussion.
This gun has bark. You feel the blast. You notice it immediately.
But the more I shot it, the more I realized why the concussion stood out so much — because the gun itself gives you almost nothing else to feel.
No real flip.
No real rise.
No real shove.
Just the sound and pressure of the gas doing exactly what it was designed to do.
Bull Armory also cleaned up the ergonomics with the walled safety, extended mag release, interchangeable trigger faces, aggressive grip texture, BAO optic system, and their own 20+1 magazines.
And here’s where it gets really interesting:
This gun is clearly chasing the Staccato XC conversation — but it comes in under $3,000 while the XC sits around $4,500.
That changes the value equation fast.
Is it loud?
Yes.
Is it overkill?
Absolutely.
But does it shoot flat enough to make you question the laws of physics?
Also yes.
Bull Armory took a gun that didn’t need to be better and made it better anyway.
That’s not normal.
And that’s exactly why I love it.
