So I started building another cutting board over Thanksgiving break last semester, but didn't get around to finishing it until about a week ago. I was originally going to cut it at an angle so it would look even more like a candy cane than my last batch, but this board ultimately ended up as mine so I decided that I'd rather have a bigger one than a fancy diagonal one.
I'm mildly concerned about the integrity of the black streaks in the cherry because I don't know what caused them and what they are exactly. They look neat though.
In hindsight, I probably shouldn't glue up 43 layers at once, but it seemed like a good idea right up until I started - at which point it was too late to turn back.
After I finished this board, I was going to use it to cut on, but I just can't bring myself to cut on it.
