Jury selection began Tuesday in the trial of two brothers accused of killing a family of four whose bodies were found inside their burning Irondequoit home nearly two years ago.
Luis Francisco Soriano and Julio Cesar Pimentel Soriano are facing several charges, including first-degree murder, arson, kidnapping and burglary, in the deaths of their cousin, Fraime Ubaldo, his girlfriend, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, and the couple's two young children, Evangeline Ubaldo Moreno and Sebastian Ubaldo Moreno.
The four victims were found over Labor Day weekend in 2024 after first responders were called to a fire at their home on Knapp Avenue.
The investigation continued for months before the brothers were arrested. Authorities have not publicly identified a specific motive in the killings. The brothers were also reportedly under investigation on suspicion of cocaine trafficking.
