On November 6, 2000, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Antonio Freeman made one of the most miraculous and improbable touchdown catches in NFL history. Dubbed the "Improbable Bobble" or the "Monday Night Miracle," the play gave the Packers a 26-20 overtime victory against the rival Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
During overtime, the Packers faced a third down in a driving rainstorm at Lambeau Field. Quarterback Brett Favre launched a 43-yard pass deep down the right sideline toward Freeman. Freeman slipped on the wet grass as Vikings cornerback Cris Dishman leaped to make a play. The ball went directly through Dishman’s hands and deflected off his shoulder pad. As Freeman rolled onto his back on the ground, the deflected ball bounced off his left shoulder. Showing incredible awareness, Freeman tracked the ball, tipped it into his chest with his right hand, and secured it mere inches before it could hit the turf. Because Dishman had already run past him and Freeman was never touched by a defender while down, he quickly jumped to his feet, juked safety Robert Griffith, and ran untouched into the end zone.
