Doing another Metroid song finally! I figured it was a good time since this game (and thus, the entire series) celebrated its 35th anniversary recently, and the new Metroid Dread was also announced recently. I decided to go with the original Brinstar theme which is an absolute classic, but I had to put my own spin on it of course and play with the time signature a bit.

Welcome to my first collaborative effort! A HUGE thanks to Animalisa Keys for providing her piano talents to this song. I dont think it would really be the same without it. Arranging a piano part was definitely an interesting challenge for me, not to mention mixing it. This also marks the first time that I didnt use any distorted rhythm guitars. Normally I cant resist the urge to make things heavy by the end, but I think this one actually turned out for the better as a result.

I am so excited for people to hear and see this one! This is easily one of my favourite video game songs all of time, probably even song in general. So far Ive mostly done songs that loop so I come up with ways to make each repetition unique, but in this case, its already a full song, so I didnt really have to do anything to the structure of the song (except for an extra 8 bars I added when it enters the faster part). I tried to capture the feeling of the original song as best I could, while putting my own stamp on it so to speak, mostly because I only use guitars and dont own violas and violins and flutes lol. Im super happy with how this turned out so hopefully you enjoy it too!
