This 35-year-old Thompson TRC-372 was far from ready for action when it arrived on my workbench.

In this video, I’ve tried to include as much as possible from everything some of you have shared with me and all the help you’ve given me. Thank you @canaldecacharreo9987 🫵
The restoration became a complete journey through the radio, starting with the receiver, where several faults had to be tracked down and repaired. Then came the PTT and transmit circuitry, followed by the replacement of the damaged driver and final transistors.
For the driver stage, the original transistors were replaced with 2N3866 devices. The damaged final transistors were replaced with ECG339 power transistors, bringing the transmitter back to life and allowing the radio to reach its full potential. It can deliver up to 25 watts of RF output, while consuming no more than around 0.2 A at idle.
I also built an internal battery solution, created audio adapters, and carried out numerous repairs and adjustments to make this old military radio practical to use again.
After all that work, the TRC-372 is finally back in service — ready for action once again.
