đ âBRING BACK MY COACH.â In this 10 second video, youâll meet Jonathan, a decorated Special Olympics athlete proudly wearing his gold medals.
But today, heâs not celebrating a win.
Heâs standing up for the man who helped him believe he could win:
Coach Leonard Woodson!
After more than 35 years of service to Evanstonâs Special Olympics community, Leonard was terminated by the City of Evanston.
The reported reason? Paperwork.
He asked for help. He was denied it.
He gave out of his own pocket to support unpaid staff.
He publicly released his entire employee file.
He had nothing to hide.
So why was he treated like a criminal?
Tomorrowâs full video will show you what they hoped youâd forget.
đ„ COMING TOMORROW: THE BREAKDOWN
â Footage from the August 5th protest outside Daniel Bissâs Congressional campaign petition event.
â Clips from the explosive Special City Council meeting.
â And the moment when everything boiled over.
Youâll see for yourself:
đ» How Mayor Daniel Biss dodged accountability
đ» How City Manager Luke Stowe sat silently, cashing one of the highest public salaries in the state
đ» How Deputy City Manager Carina Sanchez misled families and cut off support before a major Special Olympics event
đ» How Corporation Counsel Alex Ruggie cost residents money by failing to implement policy
đ» And how Councilmember Krissie Harris showed up, not to serve the people, but to protect the system
And through it all?
Youâll hear from the people who actually showed up for Evanston.
The ones who remember what community really means.
The ones who are done being silenced.
This isnât just a story about one coach.
Itâs a story about a system.
And tomorrow - we name names, roll the tape, and break it all down.
đ Save this post.
đ Tag your people.
đ Stay ready.
Because if they can do this to Leonard WoodsonâŠ
They can do it to anyone.
