This is from Monday night’s Evanston City Council meeting about the upcoming city budget and it’s a wake-up call every taxpayer needs to see.

City Hall is stacked with six-figure salaries and padded benefits, many going to people who don’t even live here, yet they’re advising your council to raise taxes again.

Some council members roll up their sleeves and find millions in the budget to protect residents’ wallets. Others just repeat what city staff and Daniel Biss tell them, using fear tactics to make you believe if taxes don’t go up, you’ll suffer.

It’s time for transparency.

Go to the City of Evanston’s public salary page and see for yourself who’s making what. Then email your council member and ask the hard questions.
