I tried overlooking the Oura ring’s flaws. I tried to act like a little extra radiation was no big deal. ☢️
And, tbh, I was obsessed for quite a while! Aiming for (& getting) high sleep and activity scores boosted my motivation to keep going.
But the recent announcement about a governmental goal of all Americans having trackers in 4 years…made me realize I could no longer ignore the truth.
It collects my data. It studies me and knows too much—my habits, my heart rate variability, my stress levels, my sleep and overall wellbeing. 🧐
And, I don’t really need it. I can figure out for myself how much sleep I’ve gotten, how active I’ve been and when I need to take a break.
So this is it: I’m officially breaking up with my Oura ring. We’re done. (And maybe it’s just the rebel in me, but when someone says I HAVE to do something, I’m out.) 👋🏽
What say you? What do you make of RFK Jr’s announcement that trackers are a key element of MAHA? 🤨
And do you use any tracking device—like the Oura ring, Fitbit or Apple Watch? Am I overreacting or is breaking up w/ trackers a good idea? Comment below 👇🏽
