Breakdown Road: Hurry! is the most notorious of the jumpless moons. However, it won't be as notorious anymore! In this video, I show an easier method where we no longer have to hurry before the road breaks down. Instead, I can simply wall-jump between the pillars that always remain intact!
Note: I use the in-game jump counter to determine what a jump is. Wall-jumps do not count as jumps. Thus, I end up with the same number of jumps at the start of the challenge as the end: 87185.
I am completely safe while standing on the pillars if the top block(s) are destroyed. The first 2 pillars that I stand on are actually lower than the rest, so I only need 1 block to be destroyed on these, while I need 2 blocks to be destroyed on the other pillars.
I can let the blocks on the pillars be destroyed by the Banzai Bill. I place Mario inward so that when the Banzai Bill misses Mario, it hits the next blocks while it veers outward.
Wall-jumping and diving is relatively safe, as I can let Mario be lower than the bullet bills while he does this.
The hardest part about this technique is the end, unfortunately. The last pillar is not close enough to the starting area, so I need to quickly do one last wall-jump and land on the starting blocks before they get destroyed. This is the only part that relies on luck, the rest of this challenge can be done reliably.
