Brave New Novels, brings two debut novelists, Reeta Chakrabarti and Yasmin Zaher, who present their new work and their contexts. Chakrabarti, an accomplished British journalist and correspondent at BBC News, brings to us her richly told debut, Finding Belle, of mothers daughters and family secrets. Zaher, a palestinian journalist and writer born in Jerusalem, introduces her debut novel, The Coin, which captures the loneliness of contemporary life and the displacement of human feelings.
Reeta Chakrabarti is an author, and a News presenter and correspondent at BBC. She presents the Six and Ten O'Clock News on BBC1, reporting at home and abroad. Chakrabarti has previously held many senior reporting roles within BBC. She has been a judge and on the chair of judges on numerous literary awards. Her debut novel, Finding Belle, is expected to come out in May, 2025.
Yasmin Zaher is a Palestinian journalist and writer born in 1991 in Jerusalem. The Coin is her first novel.
Keshava Guha is the author of the novels The Tiger's Share and Accidental Magic. His essays and journalism – on politics, culture and sport – have been widely published. He was previously a senior editor at Juggernaut Books and a columnist for NDTV.
