Dragon Wool is the latest in base layer technology. For years base layers have either been wool based or synthetic (or, **shudders** cotton). But the question is, can you have the best of both worlds? Well Outdoor Vitals believes with Dragon Wool you can! And I'd mostly agree! You get the softness, warmth, and odour protection of wool, but the mighty moisture management of synthetic polyester. Because of this you can actually *feel* yourself cooling off as you wear this base layer while hiking. I find the hoodie to be an exceptional mid-layer, but I think dragon wool really shines when its closest to your skin in the *ahem* sweatiest regions; which means the underwear are the best! Whether backpacking in summer on those cool mornings or going for winter hikes, the long-john thermal base layers will help keep you dry and warm! And with their genius design for the long john thermals having zippers, Outdoor Vitals has really created a simple but game-changing innovation! The ability to change layers without undressing makes these a must! I can only hope we see a warmer winter thermal with the same design!
