The Maligne Canyon Ice walk opens the opportunity to explore a hidden cave nestled inside the canyon walls. Follow us inside the Maligne Canyon Hidden Cave!
When we made our trip to Jasper to hike Maligne Canyon and do the Maligne Canyon Ice Walk we did some research and discovered that there is an often missed and forgotten hidden cave. In anticipation, we brought a headlamp to explore this cave in Jasper National Park Canada. We were more than excited when we found it about halfway through the hike. As shaky as it is, we do our best to show what the cave looks like inside for all those who are curious.
This cave was once part of the guided tours, but due to a collapse a few years ago, is no longer included in those trips. It is now used at the hiker's own risk.
We do not endorse or encourage other hikers to take part in risky activities that are beyond their experience or training.
Maligne Canyon is a raging river during the summer months, but in the middle of winter, the river freezes and allows for the beautiful Maligne Canyon Ice Walk. This cave is only accessible during these months.
