There's an interesting backstory of who discovered this technique. The bundled spindle was first used by me early on when I harvested some dogfennel to use for hand drill, but when they dried out, were much too small in diameter. I bundled them together with some electrical tape, used a bearing block with a metal bearing in it , and reused a big divot in a Tulip Poplar fireboard. It easily produced embers. I first called the technique something that begins with a "C" that I can't remember. Shortly thereafter I renamed it to the Bundled Spindle.
One person in particular questioned if I had invented it because he remembered the technique when it was called "C". Then I started to question if I had been influenced by some of Edu Gordo's videos. I couldn't find one that was like the bundled spindle that I use. He's watched all my other Bundled Spindle videos, commented favorably, but never even hinted that I stole the technique from him. Every time I use this technique I feel uncomfortable about it because of this cloud of doubt.
I'm going to ask him to comment on who discovered this technique first. I'll encourage him to post the LINK to his video of the technique or similar technique. I could care less if he's the originator... But I do care very much and want the credit if I'm the originator.

I have to tell you that with this new name "beinggoodtopeople", at first I had not recognized your new channel.
I'll make a little recap:
On July the 4th, 2015 you posted the video "Great Bundled Spindle Action in Real Time No Edits" which doesn't start with "C" but with "G", in which you use duct tape to hold the sticks that form the drill.

This Bundled Spindle is made from 8 pieces of Dogfennel, and bow drilled with a fatwood bearing block, and a Tulip Poplar fireboard. The tinder bundle is of 3 Pine Cones Stuffed with catkins.
