We have had our blue-merle, pure-bred Border Collie for 2 years and while he LOVES splashing and chasing water on ANY adventure - he hasn't quite mastered full immersion swimming.
I recently heard about a local place called Sea Dogz, in Ogden, Utah, and scheduled a 60-minute dog swimming class!
This is a class I would recommend to any ADVENUTURE dog just for their own safety, and confidence-building skill!
Later on, as we focus from training to fun, we will later introduce dock jumping, which based off of what we already see from Clark, dock jumping will be a easy transition for him.
