At approximately 1520 hours I observed a white and red ski boat operating in an erratic manner. The operator was turning 180 degree turns at a high rate of speed multiple times. The driver then traveled east at a high rate of speed and wouldn't acknowledge my vessel traveling next to him with blue lights on.

I also observed the driver drink from a can while driving that was later confirmed tobe a Busch Light Beer. I then conducted a vessel stop and it should be noted there were several empty beer cans all over the vessel.

During the safety inspection, I observed signs of impairment along with the admission of drinking alcohol. His eyes were bloodshot, face was flush, and his speech was slow. He stated he started drinking around 11 AM and had 6 or 7 drinks. I asked if he would submit to standard field sobriety tasks for determining whether or not his normal faculties were impaired, he agreed and was read implied consent and was asked to provide a lawful sample of his breath for the purpose of determining its alcohol content to which he agreed to provide. He provided breathe samples of 0.129 and 0.135.

He was issued a Uniform Boating Citation for Operating a Vessel with a Blood Alcohol Content above .08.
