On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at around 6:45 p.m., Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 18700 block of NW 53rd Court Road, in Orange Lake, in reference to someone shooting near the roadway. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that Blumhardt fired multiple rounds from a rifle and aimed the gun across Northwest 53rd Court Road toward a neighbor’s property while cars were driving past. Deputies later made contact with two victims, the driver and passenger of a vehicle, who advised they observed Blumhardt aiming across the roadway as they were approaching him. The victims stated that Blumhardt never lowered the rifle and fired a shot shortly after they passed by, which caused them to be in fear for their lives.
The MCSO Aviation Unit responded to assist and located Blumhardt in the yard of his residence. They provided information to the deputies on the ground, who provided commands to Blumhardt and took him into custody without incident.
Blumhardt admitted to firing his weapon near the roadway, and deputies located the rifle inside his home. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.
