Picked up a black walnut blank from Out of the Woods (@OutoftheWoods0623) when he cut his first run of bowl blanks. Twice turned and air dried. Did have some checking, most likely because I rushed the first turn as it was well sealed. Easily fixed with some Starbond CA glue.
A lot of color variation, including some purples that may not show well on the video. Finished to 600 grit and Ack’s abrasive paste. Used Ack’s recipe for shine juice for several coats, sanded and polished back down and finished with Ack’s Polish/Restoring Paste.
Final dimensions - 2-3/4 inches tall and 8-3/8 inches diameter.
