Three handles for a project in progress. Black walnut blanks shaped into hexagons using my table saw jig. Bored out to accept 6mm by 250mm steel tube and installed with Starbond five minute epoxy.
Sanded to 320 grit and then used Ack’s Sanding Sealer to stabilize some tear out. Finished sanding to 400 grit, then Ack’s Abrasive Paste and Ack’s Polish/Restoring Paste.
Final dimensions - handle length 11 inches (8-3/4 inches not including insert portion taped for finishing) with major hex diameter 1-3/16 inches (minor hex diameter 1 inch). Throat minor diameter 11/16 inches.
