There is a great paved Rail Trail that runs thru miles of stunning rural Dutchess and Columbia County landscapes.. the Harlem Valley Rail Trail ( hvrt.org ). We biked it five years ago. It has been expanding. We started at the Taconic State Park which is near one of our favorite waterfalls (Bash Bish Falls youtu.be/3nbAsL4BC4M ). We rode down to Wassaic. The round trip was 50 miles. There are many places to stop and eat/drink/relax!
