In this video I show you guys how I've created big carbon fiber plates for a customer using VARTM/RTM/Resin infusion Technique.
I personally think this is the best way to create high gloss, smooth, strong, lightweight carbon fiber sheets or plates. By using this technique no air will be trapped in the surface causing pinholes. I'm sure there are other ways to create plates like this, like prepreg with hydraulic presses, but for a budget friendly project this is the best way.
About the layup: 650g/m Carbonfiber finish and a 300g/m fiberglass
This is resulting in a strong but still flexible light plate.
