Carbon fiber parts made using the resin infusion technique begin with dry carbon fiber fabric carefully laid into a mold in the desired shape. A vacuum bag is then sealed over the mold, and all air inside is removed using a vacuum pump. Once a full vacuum is achieved, liquid resin is drawn into the mold through inlet lines, flowing evenly through the carbon fiber layers. The resin fully wets out the fibers and then cures at room temperature or with heat. After curing, the vacuum bag is removed, and the finished carbon fiber part is demolded, trimmed, and ready for use.
