About this video: Sodium is one of Minecraft’s best performance mods, and this video gives you the settings you need to use to balance FPS, performance, and make sure you have a great experience.
To get Sodium settings after you have it installed, go to Options, Video Settings. Here, you will see all of the settings on the left-hand side. There are tons of different options here, but generally, you want to turn things down to increase FPS and turning them up will decrease it.
It is worth nothing that things on the “Performance” tab should all be turned on, and, render distance and simulation distance should be turned as low as possible. These have huge performance effects.
Lighting comes in next as well as particles. Shaders will also add tons of lag to Minecraft, but Sodium doesn’t support shaders by default. If you do have them though, make sure they are disabled.
