Bear attacks goat and dogs in Turkey.
Our video today is about a bear attacking goat herd and in a second video attacking few dogs in Turkey.
The brown bear is the largest carnivore in Turkey and has been legally protected since 2003.
However, increasing levels of conflict between brown bears and humans have been reported for several regions, especially for Arvin in north-eastern Turkey.
Still several bears get shot and killed apparently as a consequence of damage experienced by farmers.
A rise in their number and a change in their hibernation habits make bears more dangerous to humans in the eastern Black Sea region.
Descending to residential areas from mountains in search of food, bears raise concerns for locals.
Researchers surveying the mountainous eastern Black Sea region discovered a 10 percent increase in wildlife.
From bears to mountain goats, foxes and boars, shedding light on increasing bear attacks on humans and livestock.
The lack of snowfall in recent years is causing bears to skip hibernation and this is getting very problematic for the farmers .
In countries like Slovenia, they have allowed the killing of wolves and bears.
As many as 130 brown bears were killed in Slovenia until August 11, 2021.
The Ministry of the Environment said they allowed this to limit the damage they do to crops and livestock and prevent numbers of growing.
However, the changes in the climate and ever growing human population both are effecting wildlife.
More we humans are occupying their space , more are the conflicts.
Wildlife populations have fallen by more than two-thirds in less than 50 years, according to a major report by the conservation group WWF.
This is why farmers keep dogs to fend off predators like bear, wolves , foxes etc.
When confronted by dogs, most bears don't like to fight and retreat easily.
They are only there cause they are hungry and they are seeking food.
A dog's barking irritates them and it makes it difficult for them to concentrate on their food-gathering mission.
Most will retreat and seek food in areas which are less noisy and which require less effort.
however, a bear who is really hungry and is fully determined to get the food, no amount of dogs will going to matter.
As the smallest bear is twice as heavy as the largest breeds of dog.
They also have sharp claws and they can gut a dog with just a simple swipe.
Most dogs if attacked by a bear will retreat unless they are fully trained for hunting down and fighting bears.
Not all dog breeds will have enough courage to stand in front of an attacking bear.
