Dogo Argentino vs badger.
Dogo Argentinos are tough dogs and farmers have used them for centuries, to fend off wild animals such as coyotes, jackals, foxes, wolves, puma etc.But not all dogs are same , a working dogo would be a lot different than a non working dogo. Dogos can be both fierce hunters and gentle protectors of their humans. They have a high prey drive, a strong will, and, at times, a distrust of strangers and other animals, all of which require an experienced dog owner to handle the breed.
On the other hand all badgers species are fierce and built for defence, with thick, loose fur and skin and muscular necks that makes them harder to catch. Badgers are really territorial animals, great diggers capable of incredible tunnel constructions, they are stocky and resilient and they won't back up against larger animals especially if their den safety is at stake. However, the toughest of all the badger species are honey badgers.
European badgers the one in this clip are also powerfully built animals with small heads, thick, short necks, stocky, wedge-shaped bodies and short tails. Their feet are plantigrade or semi digitigrade and short, with five toes on each foot. The limbs are short and massive, with naked lower surfaces on the feet. The claws are strong, elongated and have an obtuse end, which assists in digging.
The man was out on walk with his dogo argentino, when they came across the badger. As soon as dogo looked at the badger it wasted no time to attack it. Wild predators avoid confrontation with any species of badgers, mainly because they don't wish to risk injuries, which the badger would most likely inflict. Most of the dogs would never go near a badger, unless they were bred to hunt down wild animals. Dog breeds such as Pitbulls, Guldong, Bully Kuttas, Kangals, , presa canario, cane corso etc may take a chance of attacking a badger one on one. Usually dogs hunt badgers in packs but one on one very few dogs will take that risk. Because badgers are quite agile and have a strong skin that protects them like armour.
They are also very low to the ground and would bite in the leg and throat of any predator that tries to attack it. They will avoid any confrontation if possible but a dog attacking a badger will need to visit a vet afterwards, as he will have some serious bite wounds. Luckily the confrontation between this dogo and badger didn't go to a deadly fight and people managed to break up the fight. The badger went down to its burrow, straight after the dogo was called back by the owner.
