Three recordings of a bass drum with slight variations in the mic placement: 1) aimed straight forward from the porthole to the batter head, 2) pointed to the center of the batter head and moved a bit further from the resonant head and 3) pointed left to the center and moved even further back.
Does it matter?
Be sure to switch to HD and use good headphones or monitor speakers to hear the differences.
Setup: 22" Gretsch Ash bass drum, Aquarian Superkick II batter head, Gretsch stock resonant head, EV PL-33 bass drum mic, 2 cheap C2 Behringer overhead mics, 80's Acrolite snare, Masterwork Custom series hihat and crash.
