Basic Fun has officially launched its first entry in the Arcade Classics Ultra Series — WWE WrestleFest Arcade Classics Ultra — but fans are already raising serious concerns. The cabinet, launching at $599, is built with the exact same materials, PCB, sticks, and buttons as Arcade1Up’s Deluxe line… but offers fewer games, missing content, no deck protection, and higher pricing.
Most notably, the game is missing three iconic wrestlers — Sgt. Slaughter and the Legion of Doom from the original arcade classic. LOD, the final bosses, have been completely removed without replacements, turning the climactic match into a random two-character fight. Their cutscenes have also been stripped, and similar edits hit the second title on the cab, WWE Superstars, which is missing Andre the Giant and The Macho Man Randy Savage.
