I have made a secret or hidden door in the new basement wall that leads to the storage room. The secret door is made to look like a continuation of the shelves behind the TV. The door is framed in 2x4s just like the wall. I added a wheel at the swing of the secret door to support the weight of the added shelves and drawers on the door. The latch mechanism is a round about connection between the door frame and a wood turned bowl sitting on one of the shelves. The bowl on the shelf is the disguised door knob for the door.
