We went for a day trip to Mount St. Helens. I wanted to do a project that could find its inspiration in that trip. I thought it would be nice to carve a terrain model of the landscape and somehow combine it with a photo I took. I built a wood inly made with abstracted forms of the photo. I then carved a terrain on the CNC router of Mount St. Helens. The final piece is trying to be both the photo and the model.
