Jacques Offenbach's Barcarolle from Tales of Hoffmann, played on the violin! I remember I really liked this piece when I was a kid, but I couldn't pronounce "Barcarolle," and often referred to it as the "Broccoli Song....." lol! Since then I've learned a little more about how to pronounce "Barcarolle.." ^^;;
I remember hearing this piece from eons ago! I was browsing through all of my old sheet music and ran across it (this and Carmen!). I had to play it on the violin -- it's such a pretty piece! It's simple, nice, and very pretty. ^__^
I believe it's originally for a singing duet, but here is a violin solo version.
My piano skills don't go much further than "Chopsticks" and chord progressions, so my mom helped me with the piano part. A super big Thank You goes to her! I love you, Mom!
