In this AU Balto and Dixie live in the same city. Dixie is singing in the band, she seems to be happy on the poster, but she barely knows the other members and feels a stranger among them. She can't get close to anyone in the city either, anyone expect for Balto.
Dixie and Balto are in a long secret relationship. It's not like they're hiding from someone, they just feel better when their meetings are not known by the majority. Sometimes Dixie is rehearsing her songs, and Balto is watching in the crowd.
Their lives are good but they both are not feeling really happy despite everything and often have evenings full of unreasonable sadness.
One evening Dixie suggests that they maybe should start something new in their relationship, maybe they could get married and take it out of the city for some months, go anywhere together. Balto is confused at first, but then he proposes to Dixie the next evening.
They're not sure if thier wedding would be secret or not and where they're going to go, but they feel that they have each other and it fills them with warmth
