Bali Hai is a beautiful place located on the Hawaiian island of Kauai up north by Tunnels Beach. I was there in May of 2011 and cherished being there. I love JJ's Pizza in KAPA'A... great stuff! Ask for JJ.
On Bali Hai I'm using the C6th tuning and some extra reverb on my Microcube portable amp. I prefer brass finger picks, .018" guage. I rarely use anything other than .018" thickness guage finger picks. I like the shiny look of brass. They're hard to find, but I got a bunch from HanksHouseOfSteel.com in Wisconsin. For the thumb pick I always use Dunlop plastic picks (black is the smallest size I believe and it works for me. I don't like a loose thumb pick. Blue gets loose after it warms up in awhile. The red is in between and I use it a lot. I like them all. I guess it deepends on how my thumb is feeling on any particular day... lol. = -)
