Hello, welcome to EZ Eatery! My name is Angela and I'm thrilled to share with you a favorite dish of my daughters with you today. Baked Ziti. Every time I ask them what they'd like me to make for them when they come to visit me, it's almost always the baked ziti. Guess what you guys, you can make it in the air fryer too! No need to turn on your oven and roast your entire house in these ridiculously hot temperatures. And you know me, I study recipes like crazy and bring you dishes in the most simplest and easiest way possible. You look like a gourmet chef with little to no effort, plus I'm all about being cost effective.
Baked Ziti
1/2 box penne pasta
2 C ricotta cheese
2 C mozzarella cheese (save 1 C to add to top)
1 egg
1/2 C parmesan cheese
1 jar spaghetti sauce
Boil pasta in salty water for 10 minutes or al dente. Mix together all cheeses and egg into a bowl. Add noodles into an oven safe bowl or casserole dish. Add cheese mixture to noodles. Add about 1/3 jar spaghetti sauce and combine. Add an additional 1/3 jar of spaghetti sauce as top layer (so the noodles don't dry out). Then add the remaining mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil. Pop it into the air fryer at 320F for 15 minutes. Remove foil and cook an additional 10 minutes. That's it! We made baked ziti in the air fryer! Enjoy!
Now this is just a base recipe. You can also add hamburger or Italian sausage to it for a meatier meal. Or add Italian seasoning or seasonings of your choice. I kind of like this one plain and so do my kids.
